While jean skirts and cut-off shorts are staple spring/summer items, you get to have a bit more fun when choosing what top to pair them with. As the warm weather months quickly approach, it's time to look at what tops are going to be must-haves for spring and summer. Whatever your fashion personality is - whether it's girly, vintage, tom-boy, earthy or a mixture of everything - you can find several tops to work into your warm weather wardrobe.

Firstly, there are plenty of great tops that you can wear to work this spring/summer. Though it's difficult to sit in the office when the sun's shining outside, having after-work plans and the perfect day-to-evening top will help the hours pass quickly. Popular tops this upcoming spring/summer season include cowl neck short-sleeved shirts in prints and bright solid colours. The detail of the cowl neck makes these tops dressy enough for work, but casual enough to wear from the office to after-work drinks or a night out. Blouses will also be popular this spring/summer and are also ideal for the office.

As for the all-important going out tops, there are plenty of fresh looks to choose from. Particularly exciting for spring/summer 2012 is the knot front top, which features a knot just below the bust for a very slimming silhouette. Also flattering and always sexy is the wrap top, which accentuates all your best features while sneakily hiding your more troublesome areas. For an extra splash of glam, buy these styles in a shimmery metallic fabric or go bold with sequins.

Speaking of going bold, one of the hottest upcoming trends is the one-sleeve top. This fashion-forward, asymmetrical silhouette looks stunning on every body type. Wear it with a pair of dark skinny jeans and platform heels for a truly runway-worthy look.

Finally, for a more casual top, the checked shirt remains a strong look for spring/summer 2012. With celebrities such as Vanessa Hudgens, Kate Moss, Taylor Swift, Pippa Middleton and Lauren Conrad all sporting this tom-body chic look, the comfy checked shirt looks like its staying around for at least another season. For a 70s-inspired look, choose a checked shirt in earthy tones such as beige, forest green, mustard yellow and burnt orange. If you're looking for something more contemporary, find a checked shirt in bright pinks and purples for a strong feminine look.

Clearly, there's a lot to look forward to this spring/summer. If you haven't started thinking about your warm weather tops, then pencil-in a weekend shopping trip as soon as possible. After all, in the world of fashion it's always best to think one season ahead of everyone else.

It is rumored that Alexander Anderson, Sean's grandfather (played by Michael Caine) has something to do with this secret. Because he is unable to stop Sean from going on this journey, his stepfather (played by Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson) decides to go with him on the journey. Accompanying them on the journey are the helicopter pilot (played by Luis Guzmán) and his very assertive daughter (played by Vanessa Hudgens). They all set out to locate this mysterious island, save its sole inhabitant and try to escape before the island and its treasures are buried forever under sea by seismic waves.

I've never had the experience of being a step-child or a step-parent, but I know some people who have been on either side of the spectrum when it comes to that living arrangement. Those relationships can be tough and strenuous in many cases, because the kids might not take to the new adult in their lives. Journey 2: The Mysterious Island sheds a little bit of light on the subject while going on an adventure of a lifetime.

Vanessa Hudgens

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island is a follow-up to 2008's Journey to the Center of the Earth and it sees Josh Hutcherson reprise his role as Sean Anderson. In this outing, Sean believes that he's received a code from someone, but that he can't figure out. He gets assistance from his step-father Hank (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) and is able to find out what the code means. They soon understand that the signal that forwarded the code comes from a mysterious land that's not supposed to exist.

Being the adventurer that he is, Sean wants to go to this location and find out what's there, but Hank is hesitant and tries to talk him out of it. Hank soon realizes that the best way to show his step-son that this is a place of fiction is to have him see it for himself. They go to hire someone to take them over to this area and they run into a man named Gabato (Luis Guzman) and his daughter Kailani (Vanessa Hudgens). Together, the four go to the destination and find out that it's not only real, but it's also more than they could have ever bargained for.

The 3D in Journey 2 was some of the best that i've seen in just about any movie. They made sure that everything that could be used for 3D was used the right way. I'm not exactly fond of this Hollywood gimmick, but it wasn't problematic and I think that it's properly utilized here. From my perspective, it was one of the few strong points of Journey 2 and something that other movies wanting to use 3D should attempt to duplicate.

Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa Hudgens

There's not a whole lot to complain about in Journey 2, but there's not a whole lot to rave about either. Much of what goes on in this movie flies by without doing much and I guess you can say that it served its purpose while having nothing stand out. I never got the sense that any of the characters were in any kind of danger and they didn't really act like they were in any either. Injecting some fear and angst into these guys during their dilemmas would have added to the excitement and made the action better than solid. With it being PG and kid friendly I know they couldn't do much, but I know they could have done more.

Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa Hudgens

There are a few laughs to be had and going into the movie, you had to figure that comedy would be one of its selling points aside from the adventure itself. For every laugh in the Journey 2, there were two jokes that did nothing. Most of the good portions of the comedy came from Luis Guzman. That can be said when he's on his own or when he's with others on the comedic front, but he's usually the center of most of it either way. Just like everything else, the comedy overall is not bad or great, it's just there with not much else.

Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa Hudgens

I didn't enjoy much of Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, but that doesn't matter. This movie wasn't made for people who can go to clubs, drink or join the military whenever they choose to. This movie was made for kids and kids alone. These youngsters may find this to be entertaining based on the 3D, CGI, a few jokes and the sense of adventure that the movie tries to create. From their perspective, I would say that it could satisfy the "twelve and under" crowd, but that's exactly what it's supposed to do.

Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa Hudgens

Movies like this can be enjoyable for people of all ages, but it would probably need more depth and substance to attain that level of quality. I'll score this movie two ways. One will be based on my view as an adult and the other is based on how much I think kids will like it. This is the first and probably the last time I'll do this, but I felt it was appropriate.

Zack Snyder have only made four movies, but he already established a certain style, we can say, "Hey that's Zack Snyder's movie." All his movies are profitable and they receive generally warm acceptance. With the success of 300 (2007) and Watchmen (2009), Snyder also managed to create a fan base among comic book fans. His success primarily came from his ability to merge beautiful graphics and action packed scenes to please the audience.

Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa Hudgens

Snyder's latest installment uses the same approach he used in 300. Sucker Punch (2011) tells a story about a girl called Baby Doll (Emily Browning). When Baby Doll's violent stepfather sent her to Lennox House for The Mentally Insane against her will, Baby Doll is faced with a nightmarish news about her scheduled lobotomy. Not willing to give up and end her life on the operating table, she devised a plan to escape from the institution. Baby Doll gathered other girls at Lennox House and told them about her plan. She urged four other young girls, the outspoken Rocket (Jena Malone), the street-smart Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens), the fiercely loyal Amber (Jamie Chung) and the reluctant Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish), to band together and try to escape their terrible fate.

To bear with the harsh reality of day-to-day life at Lennox House, Baby Doll created an alternate universe inside her head. In her new vision of the mental institution, Baby Doll is faced with the challenge to gather some items to help her escape. She will receive these items as a reward for defeating deadly enemies. The story continues in the alternate universe where fire-breathing serpents, giant robots, and samurai warriors exists.

Sucker Punch's newest trailer offers us a glimpse into Snyder's magnificent fantasy world. The view of epic battles, spectacular setting, and scary enemies are served as nonstop eye candy. Of course, Snyder kept his signature slow motion style with every bullets shot, exploding bombs, and head-splitting sword fights.

Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa Hudgens

This time, Snyder is not making movie adaptation. Sucker Punch is written by Snyder himself, and Steve Shibuya. He already came up with the idea of filming the story a couple years ago. Snyder also said he enjoyed the freedom of filming his own original script. But it doesn't mean that Snyder will stop making movie adaptations from comic book characters. His next project is The Man of Steel (2012), and the production of Xerxes and Ga'Hoole's sequel might come sooner than people think.
