Brad pitt movies #05

brad pitt movies
Brad Pitt has starred in dozen of major Hollywood movies, and while he has somewhat of a reputation as a ladies' favorite, it would definitely be off base to call him a pretty boy. Many characters played by Pitt are amazingly tough, with some being scarily so or psychopathic to boot. Before judging the actor's work as being "pretty boy" or somewhere run of the middle, you will definitely want to consider some of these movies he's been in before writing him off as a guy who can play a really dangerous character well.
brad pitt movies
In "Fight Club," Brad plays the role of Tyler Durden, a brilliant psychopath who is actually the alter-ego to Ed Norton's more button down self. Strong, smart, and very much the sociopath, this character should put to rest any accusations of Pitt as a pretty boy only.

The movie "Snatch" came out the next year, and in this film Brad Pitt very convincingly plays the part of a gypsy bare knuckle boxing champion, Mickey O'Neil. The only way to describe this character is an iron chin and steel fists. Not an ounce of weakness on this character.

For a less conventional tough guy, take a look at the action flick/comedy "Mr. & Mrs. Smith." While a little bit goofy, in this film he is a professional assassin who knows his way around guns, explosives, and even a little hand to hand combat.
brad pitt movies
While the first thought most people have of Brad Pitt isn't as a tough guy actor, these movies have proved that when the role calls for it, he can roll up and kick butt as an action hero with the best of them.

One of the most iconic and likable actors in Hollywood today is Brad Pitt. It is not all too often that you meet someone who doesn't like Brad Pitt. I mean, aside from the whole Jennifer Aniston fiasco, he seems like a really good guy. It also doesn't hurt that most of his movies are well selected.
brad pitt movies
This article will discuss my favorite Brad Pitt movies of all time.
brad pitt movies
The first movie I will mention is the movie that almost nabbed him his first Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. That film was of course, The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button. I thought he did an incredible job in this peculiar life story.
brad pitt movies
Another great movie that he starred in was Se7en. I still remember seeing this movie for the first time and being left speechless at the end. This is as good as murder mystery thrillers get. This movie also stars Morgan Freeman and Gwyneth Paltrow.
brad pitt movies
Another one of the best Brad Pitt movies is Fight Club. In my opinion, this was the role of Pitt's career. I cannot think of a film character who is cooler than Tyler Durden and I don't think anyone could have pulled it off the way Pitt did.
brad pitt movies
One film that featured Pitt that I thoroughly enjoyed was Snatch. It is truly amazing how crazy Pitt's accent is in this film; you cannot make out anything he is saying. I think its supposed to be Irish.
brad pitt movies
In the scope of the romantic genre, one great movie starring Brad Pitt was Meet Joe Black. Pitt plays Death in this film and falls in love with the daughter of the man who is supposed to kill. Pretty interesting stuff.
brad pitt movies
I am sure there are some other great films that I have left off this list. Brad Pitt has enough great films to make a follow up article, so don't worry if I left off one of your favorites.

I don't know about you, but I'm a big fan of Brad Pitt movies. Sure, he's a good-looking guy who's romantically involved with one of the world's great beauties, but he's also a talented actor capable of playing a wide range of roles. And maybe I'm going out on a limb here, but I predict he'll only get better with age. For those who remain skeptical about his abilities, I've put together this brief look at some of the best Brad Pitt movies currently available on DVD and Blu-ray.
brad pitt movies
Inglourious Basterds (2009) - Pitt plays a southern-fried, Nazi-killing soldier in this WWII epic from director Quentin Tarantino. He's way over the top, but that's perfectly in keeping with Tarantino's bloody, and often darkly comical, piece of revisionist history.
brad pitt movies
12 Monkeys (1995) - Bruce Willis stars as a convict who volunteers to travel back through time and save the planet from a lethal viral outbreak. When he does so, he meets the manic Jeffrey Goines in an insane asylum, and the young man becomes his primary suspect for who released the virus in the first place.
brad pitt movies
The Mexican (2001) - Jerry Welbach is a chronic screw-up. Forced to run errands for the mob after accidentally sending their boss to prison, Jerry's final mission is to travel to Mexico and locate a legendary antique gun. Things don't go as planned, however, and his nagging girlfriend (Julia Roberts) is soon drawn into events.

Kalifornia (1993) - Brian Kessler (David Duchovny) is writing a book about serial killers. Along with his girlfriend (Michelle Forbes), he decides to drive from Pittsburgh to California and document famous murder sites along the way. In order to save money on gas, he advertises for a ride-share. Imagine his surprise when honest-to-goodness serial killer Early Grayce (Pitt) answers his ad.
brad pitt movies
Snatch (2000) - Director guy Ritchie takes a look at illegal boxing in the UK, along with a number of other criminal pursuits. Pitt plays Mickey O'Neil, an Irish gypsy who also happens to be a bare-knuckle boxing champion. When he nearly kills the boxer managed by Turkish (Jason Statham), he agrees to fill in during an upcoming bout hosted by the crime kingpin Brick Top (Alan Ford). Meanwhile, a whole host of colorful criminals search for a stolen 84-carat diamond.
brad pitt movies
Fight Club (1999) - Edward Norton is an unnamed, disillusioned young man searching for meaning in his life. He finds it when he meets Tyler Durden (Pitt), an eccentric soap-maker who despises consumerism and all it stands for. Together, they start an underground fight club where men can discover themselves, and Tyler soon focuses his energy in a new, more destructive direction. Helena Bonham Carter co-stars.
brad pitt movies
Interview with the Vampire (1994) - Based on the novel by Anne Rice, Interview casts Brad Pitt opposite Tom Cruise. Pitt plays Louis, a sensitive vampire who was turned in 1791 by the manipulative and often callous Lestat (Cruise). As the two immortals travel the world, they fight, feed, and create a monstrous "daughter" (played by a young Kirsten Dunst). Also starring Antonio Banderas, Christian Slater, and Stephen Rea.
brad pitt movies
Troy (2004) - As the legendary Trojan War commences, heroes on both sides prepare to engage in a life or death struggle. Pitt plays Achilles, the world's greatest warrior.
brad pitt movies
Seven Years in Tibet (1997) - The real-life story of an Austrian mountaineer (Pitt) who travels to Tibet and winds up becoming a friend and tutor to the Dalai Lama. Due to the content of the film, Pitt was banned by the Chinese government from ever entering their country.
brad pitt movies
Seven (1995) - Set in a city where it always rains, Seven focuses on the brutal crimes committed by a serial killer looking to punish those guilty of the seven deadly sins. Det. Mills (Pitt) and Det. Somerset (Morgan Freeman) are the dedicated cops on his trail. Filled with twists and turns, the film is deftly directed by David Fincher.

Here's hoping you enjoyed my list of Brad Pitt movies. While fans may be reminded of some of their favorite cinematic moments, it's my hope that non-fans will put aside their preconceived notions and give at least one of the movies listed above a try. If they do, I'm confident that they'll come away a believer.

Brad pitt movies #02

brad pitt movies
A beautiful movie that takes place in Montana where the hills and trees are sprawling. Great acting all the way around and great directing by Robert Redford.
brad pitt movies
A staple with sci-fi fans, 12 Monkeys has a twisted plot that can be easy to lose track of. Proves, like many of his movies, that Pitt does not need to play the pretty-boy.
brad pitt movies
What a great movie to be in, this is the role I think other actors must be jealous they didn't get. A masterpiece by David Fincher.
brad pitt movies
Another David Fincher winner. Obviously Fincher and Pitt make a good team. Fight club is perhaps in my top five favorite movies of all time. Such a fun movie and amazing twist.
brad pitt movies
A cool movie by Guy Ritchie that places Pitt as a traveling con man/gypsy. Fun to watch like every other Guy Ritchie movie.
brad pitt movies
The original, well not really, that was a remake of the original. This one is just better in most ways than other Oceans movies.
brad pitt movies
I really liked this one. Brad Pitt was great, but so was Casey Affleck. I think this is more of a story about Robert Ford than Jesse James. Affleck gives such a strong performance, the tension in this movie is palpable.
brad pitt movies
Probably my least favorite on this list, but still good. He doesn't get much of a chance to flex his acting muscles, but is still an interesting and fun story.
brad pitt movies
One of Quentin Tarantino's great works. The tension that was created in the downstairs bar scene was so strong I was sweating.
